Despite its rich offerings and regular tourist visits, Rutland County had no centralized online platform to effectively promote its 27 distinct towns, each filled with historical landmarks, parks, outdoor recreation, and local shops. This absence made it difficult for visitors to discover and explore the full breadth of attractions, highlighting the need for a solution that would centralize and enhance the visibility of these local features.

The primary goals for the Rutland RAMP project were to develop a unique brand identity that resonates with both residents and visitors and to design custom illustrations depicting local landmarks, activities, and historic sites. Additionally, the project aimed to create an interactive map that allows users to filter attractions based on their interests. A crucial aspect of the project was also to enable the organization to easily add and manage data points on the map, ensuring the platform remains useful and up-to-date.

Interactive Map

Developed an interactive map integrated with Google Maps, enabling users to effortlessly locate attractions based on their interests and current location. This feature enhances the tourist experience in Rutland County by simplifying navigation and discovery.

Data Management

Implemented a user-friendly data management system that allows easy updates either through a spreadsheet import or manual entry. This flexibility ensures that the map remains accurate and comprehensive, continually improving the site's effectiveness and user experience.

We designed a distinctive logo for RAMP that embodies the project's mission through thoughtful design and color theory. Alongside the logo, we established a comprehensive set of brand identity elements tailored for use in advertising and marketing materials. These efforts have equipped RAMP with a unique and recognizable identity, enhancing its visibility and appeal across various media platforms.

We created a series of detailed custom illustrations that accurately depict local landmarks, towns, buildings, and recreational areas within Rutland County. These illustrations were crafted to enhance the visual appeal of the interactive map and effectively convey the unique character of each location. The quality and impact of these illustrations were so well-received that the state of Vermont requested permission to use them in advertisements promoting the grant program.

Group6 has been amazing to work with – making for an incredibly responsive, insightful, and iterative development process. Having seen their work locally, it was obvious they were skilled, but we were blown away by their talent… talent to both glean what we hoped to see through an initial consultation process as well as their talent to create aspects and imagery that we wouldn’t have even known to articulate. The work they produced far exceeds all our expectations.
